About Us

Adelino Perin was born on a farm in Nova Prata, Brazil. Adelino and two of his friends decided they wanted to move to the United States to take a chance at making a better life. After a year of planning the move, they had saved $450.00 between them for the trip.

In May 1973, Adelino and his two friends left Brazil and began to walk to the United States. The trip took them 35 days. They traveled through 13 countries. They wound up in Chicago, Illnois. Once there they knew no one and had nowhere to go. They did not speak English, so they knew they had to find other Brazilian people to communicate with. They were told to go to Union, New Jersey where a Brazilian man owned a gas station and might be able to help.

Adelino and his friends went to Union, New Jersey and found their way to a gas station on Route 22. The owner of the gas station hired Adelino and he began his new life in America. Adelino worked there for about six months and in October 1973 one of the gas station customers, Vidal Zinczuk, offered Adelino an opportunity to work in construction. Adelino accepted the offer. Vidal taught Adelino the trade of roofing and siding. He also sponsored Adelino to legalize him in the United States. Adelino worked with Vidal for about 3 years. In October 1976, Adelino started his own company, A.P. Home Improvements. The company started as a sole proprietorship and in 1986, A. Perin Roofing & Siding became incorporated.

What started as a one-man operation has grown and now A.P. Roofing & Siding employs several more people and helps keep many sub-contractors working. Adelino continues to be successful in his expanding business enterprises. He is a well known and respected member of his extended community. Adelino contributes his time and talents to the local community, showing his thanks for their support for his business.
